Managing your user account

This forum allows you to log in/register as a user, read and respond to threads. If you only want to read posts and not reply, you do not need to register.

Registering as a new user

To participate in the user forum you will need to register an account. This will enable you to post replies and new threads on the forum.

To register a new user account, click on the ‘Register’ link at the top of the forum page.

Complete the fields on the registration form and click the ‘Register’ button at the bottom. The fields with the star icon (*) are mandatory.

Posting to the noticeboard

Creating adverts or posts

There are two options for creating adverts or posts. You can either create a new advert or discussion (thread) under one of the topics, or you can post a reply to someone else’s comment.

To create a new advert or discussion (thread):

First, you need to be a registered user and logged into the forum.
Navigate to the topic you’re interested in. For example: Buy & Sell > For Sale. From this page, click the “New topic” button. You’ll be presented with a form. Enter the title of your thread where indicated and your advert or message. You can insert links to websites, photos and emoticons (smileys). Click on the ‘Post message’ button and your thread will appear on the forum.

To post a reply to an existing thread:

First, you need to be a registered user and logged into the forum.
You’ll probably want to post a question about an item on the Buy & Sell board, or a comment once you’ve read what other people have written.
Click on the ‘Add Post’ button found at the top of existing user posts.
This will open the post edit form, where you can create your post. Once you’re happy, click on the ‘Save’ button and your post will appear on the forum.

To register interest in an item on the Buy & Sell board:

We strongly suggest that you contact the NMSG member directly through the forum by clicking on their profile and sending a message (which will arrive in their email inbox), rather than revealing personal information such as email addresses and phone numbers on the forum, which has unrestricted viewing on the internet.
